Rasmus Dahlin was drafted first overall by the Buffalo Sabres on June 22, 2018, becoming the first Swedish player to be selected with the No. 1 pick since Mats Sundin in 1989.

Following five seasons in blue and gold, Rasmus reaffirmed his commitment to Western New York by signing an eight-year contract extension on Oct. 9, 2023. He was promoted to captain of the Sabres on Sept. 26, 2024, a moment he referred to as the proudest of his career.

Rasmus met Carolina when he moved to Gothenburg, Sweden in 2015. Their friendship developed into a relationship, and they became a couple in 2019. Carolina has actively supported the local community since relocating to Buffalo in 2021, including significant contributions to GiGi’s Playhouse and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Rasmus and Carolina share a strong commitment to creating a positive impact on the lives of children and their families and take great pride in collaboratively establishing The Foundation. Together, they are excited to share this initiative with the Buffalo community.
